ARTREACH ACCEPTED FOR NEW TEXAS COMMISSION ON THE ARTS TEXAS TOURING ROSTER
Katy, TX- July, 2010 - ARTreach is pleased to announce they have been approved for inclusion on the new Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Texas Touring Roster. The Texas Touring Roster features some of the state’s best artistic talent and is designed to ensure that all Texans may enjoy events and performance by these artists in their local communities. ARTreach is one of only 124 artists and arts companies selected for inclusion on the roster statewide.
“Artists on the Texas Touring Roster travel to communities across the state and perform in a variety of venues,” said TCA executive director Gary Gibbs, “In addition to performances, they may also conduct workshops, master classes, residencies, lecture- demonstrations or arts education components as a way to engage community residents. We are proud to offer the citizens of Texas access to such high-quality artistic talent.”
TCA provides grants to arts presenters, cities, schools, libraries, theaters and other non-profits throughout Texas to help with the cost of bringing in programs and artists from the roster. Presenters may apply through TCA’s Arts Respond Performance Support for any ARTreach Program.
The Texas Commission on the Arts supports the work being done by ARTreach. Access to grant funds combined with the fact that Texas Touring Roster artist have been deemed the best in their field by a panel of statewide experts makes ARTreach artists and specialized programs attractive and accessible to a variety of presenters, including schools, non profits, festivals, theaters and other venues. ARTreach Programs received a TCA review panel rating of 97% overall for artistic impact, integrity and capacity.

The ARTreach Partners Programs offers individuals, businesses and corporations a unique opportunity to align with our community’s artists and educators to ensure the health, education, and wellness of underserved populations.
You will find ARTreach partners contributing annually to support ARTreach and on all levels. ART Partners are providing cash or in kind donations annually and on levels that average $50 – $5,000 per year.
In-Kind business donations are as valuable as dollars because gifts of goods or services that benefit our programs will help lower the cost of our outreach to make it possible for ARTreach to serve a higher number of individuals per year. In Kind donations have an impact on our capabilities and include donated venue space, ARTreach Gallery space, donated warehouse and ARTreach Studio space, and donated corporate office and meeting space. In Kind donations that also benefit ARTreach will includes catering, printing and advertising to support our fundraising events, and art supplies, sound equipment, and studio improvements that benefit our programs, as well as donated technical support and labor.
GALLERY AND STUDIO
The following companies and businesses are being recognized for their valuable in kind donations that benefit our programs and operations. The following businesses and organizations will save our organization over $180,000 in kind expenses associated with facility space and rental fees pertaining to our Galleries and Studios in 2010. Thank you!

The Villagio Town Center- The Marcel Group donates the space for the ARTreach Gallery in Cinco Ranch. Our gallery features a roster of professional artists. ARTreach roster artists are donating a percentage of the price of their artwork sold through our galleries, usually 30% of the asking price to support ARTreach Programs. Patrons that purchase artwork from our gallery enjoy knowing their purchase benefits ARTreach and the tax benefit represented by this 30% gift that supports our programs.
The Marcel Group in kind donation represents $36,000 in rent and facilities donated to ARTreach in per year to support our community outreach programs.

Ceramics by Tess – is a local Katy business that donates space we are utilizing as an ARTreach Studio to support volunteer training workshops and free field trips for seniors in assisted living, and children and adults with special needs. Ceramics by Tess also provides ARTreach with discounts on much needed ceramics products and glazes to use in our outreach programs. Tess Thornton, the owner of Ceramics by Tess, also donates many of her own hours in kind to support special projects and teach in our outreach programs.

Thank you WE (Worship Experience) Church in NW Houston for sharing your warehouse and studio space with ARTreach. A facility donation valued at $21,600 in kind per year helps ARTreach serve youth at risk and low income families living in the 34th and Magnum Street area. ARTreach Programs in impoverished communities are sustained by donors who care, about providing opportunities and improving the health and well being of those living on welfare and in poverty.
ARTreach COTERIE
This is our signature Gallery and Services site managed by Fatima Donaldson of FALA Creative. The mission of the Coterie is unique – this is a portal that unites businesses and individuals with local artistic talent through our referral program. ARTreach Coterie: an intimate and often exclusive group of artists, corporations and community leaders and ARTreach working in synergy with a unifying and common interest and purpose to support ARTreach programs. Honk if you love ART!- our Art Car has 127,000 miles and still counting many outreach miles driving back and forth to school, our events and special programs.

Come to Don McGill on August 14th to paint the Katy ART Car with us. The 2010 ART Car will be unveiled on October 12st at our “ART of Africa” Gala Exhibition being held at Agave Road on October 21st.
