URGEWORKS Programs combine mentors, urban arts and the positive aspects of the hip hop culture to support education and improved learning. ARTreach is utilizing the positive aspects street dancing, graffiti art and RAP to help kids to stay off drugs, stay off the streets, stay out of trouble and stay in school- Chris Gamez and his team of dancers teach these creative programs in a relevant and inspirational manner.
These programs introduce the character building traits respect, perseverance and honesty incorporated into art and dance lessons that help address difficult topics such as drug addiction, drug and alcohol abuse, stress, anger, stereotyping and bullying.
URGEWORKS 'Be You!' Presentation
URGEWORKS presents the positive "Be Yourself!" message through a hip-hop presentation to an audience of all ages. URGEWORKS will take student on a journey that encourages individuality and self- confidence.
URGEWORKS 'A Math Show'
This is a general assembly that combines Hip Hop and Math to grasp concepts in a fun and relevant way that captures the attention of all ages.

Perfect for Red Ribbon Week in the school districts - This program tackles drug and alcohol abuse awareness and prevention, gang awareness and the core realities associated with peer pressure, poor self image, and low self esteem in the URGEWORKS signature hip hop style.

Spokenword and RAP Workshop (Rhythm And Poetry)
Students are given an opportunity to make their voice HEARD through the power of the written and the spoken word and learn how to make their words work for them, not against them!
Graffiti ART- Art with a Voice
This is an ARTreach residency program that teaches students to paint expressively on giant canvas. The workshop focuses on the positive elements of Graffiti Art. Taught by professional artists, students will learn how to express themselves in a non-destructive non-violent manner. Graffiti Art is a powerful tool for communication.
URGEWORKS After School URBAN ARTS CLUBS
& Summer Camps
Whether its dancing, graffiti art, MC or RAP, these programs work well as after school enrichment, summer camp or extracurricular studies that support tutorials, diversion, adaptive and transitional behavior.

Chris Gamez
Chris Gamez is a professional hip hop dancer and choreographer of the international dance group, URGEWORKS. He has over 15 years experience dancing and teaching youth how to achieve success by staying off drugs, off the streets and in school.

Chris develops creative dance, urban arts and writing programs for ARTreach that serve Children at risk & Troubled Youth that supports education and juvenile justice objectives.
Pricing:
URGEWORKS presentations for schools and communities are
$550 for a single and
$750 for back to back performances for a 300-500 audience.
Texas Commission on the Arts Funding support for underserved schools is available through ARTreach. Additional Funding for these programs may be available through Texas Commission on the Arts and the Arts Respond Performance Support grant program.
This quarterly program provides support to Texas Schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations for performers, residencies or workshops. There are quarterly deadlines to apply.
